Since becoming President and CEO in 2018, Amy Jones has been the driving force behind O’Connell Robertson’s rapid growth and success, navigating the firm through a period of significant transformation. Her leadership during the global pandemic demonstrated resilience and adaptability, guiding the firm through challenges and ensuring business continuity while fostering a supportive and flexible work environment for staff.

Amy first joined O’Connell Robertson in 1997, where she contributed to the firm’s success through her roles in marketing, business development, and project execution. Before becoming President, she served as an integral part of the marketing and business development team and played a key role in managing projects for several major clients.

As President and CEO, Amy is responsible for setting the firm’s corporate vision, shaping strategic direction, managing financial operations, and leading talent initiatives. Her commitment to fostering strong client relationships, strategic partnerships, and community engagement has been instrumental in O’Connell Robertson’s decade-long growth trajectory. Amy is particularly dedicated to ensuring that the firm’s talented staff are supported and inspired, creating an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

Amy’s active involvement in regional education issues, as well as her leadership in various professional and non-profit organizations, speaks to her passion for giving back to the community and advancing educational progress across Texas. She has contributed to boards, committees, and campaigns focused on school district progress, educational partnerships, and attendance initiatives, providing a strong voice for positive change in local communities.

Director of Engineering

Nick Patterson joined O’Connell Robertson in 1998 and has played an integral role in the firm’s growth, with more than 26 years of experience in the A/E industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University, and his technical expertise spans mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design, with a focus on energy-efficient, sustainable systems. His journey from Architectural MEP support to becoming a registered engineer and Principal-in-Charge of Engineering has allowed him to guide O’Connell Robertson’s engineering efforts with firsthand experience and a strong leadership presence.

As Director of Engineering, Nick’s team is dedicated to developing high-performance MEP solutions that meet the unique needs of each project. His work on complex healthcare and higher education projects embodies the firm’s ability to deliver innovative engineering solutions that enhance building performance and exceed client expectations. Nick is particularly proud of his team’s ability to provide high-quality engineering designs that contribute to the success of facilities across Texas.

Nick has extensive experience with construction and renovation projects of varying complexity, ensuring seamless collaboration between the engineering and architectural teams to meet project goals. His guidance ensures the delivery of integrated, sustainable designs that are both functional and efficient.

With a deep passion for the intersection of art, science, math, and technology, Jarrod Sterzinger has been shaping mission-driven spaces for educational and healthcare environments since joining O’Connell Robertson in 2008. As Director of Architecture, he leads the architectural vision for the firm across all project types, fostering a design process that ensures exceptional quality and service while exceeding client expectations.

Jarrod also serves as O’Connell Robertson’s Education Practice Leader, specializing in 21st-century learning environments. His expertise informs facility design that enhances student and teacher success. One of his most notable projects, Success High School, reflects his ability to create spaces that align with the values and needs of a unique student population, supporting achievement and innovation.

In addition to his work in K12 education, Jarrod provides leadership in higher education and healthcare design, overseeing technical execution and ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and contracts. He integrates sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs, creating healthy, high-performing environments.

With Master’s degrees in Architecture and Business Administration from Texas Tech University, Jarrod combines strategic thinking with design expertise, making him a trusted advisor and driving force behind O’Connell Robertson’s architectural success.

Director of San Antonio Office

Chris Narendorf’s passion for architecture was shaped by his grandfather, a carpenter, and his father, a mechanical engineer, inspiring him to create impactful, functional spaces that serve communities. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and joined O’Connell Robertson in 2000. Since then, he has been a key leader in the firm, guiding teams to deliver innovative solutions across the K-12, higher education, and healthcare sectors.

As Director of the San Antonio Office, Chris has played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s presence in South Texas, strengthening relationships with school districts, universities, and healthcare organizations. His leadership has driven growth, ensuring projects are executed with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and service.

With more than 2 decades of experience, Chris has led numerous K-12 projects across Texas, balancing innovative design with budget-conscious solutions. His expertise in campus planning enhances academic environments in higher education, while his work in healthcare facility design—including projects for University Health, Shannon Medical Center, Clarity Child Guidance Center, and Central Health—addresses the evolving needs of patients and providers.

Since joining O’Connell Robertson in 2001, Ted has been a cornerstone of the firm’s engineering team, bringing a wealth of expertise in mechanical design for healthcare environments. Recognized as one of the most knowledgeable professionals in the Central Texas region, he is dedicated to creating high-performance, efficient, and sustainable building systems that enhance the functionality, safety, and comfort of medical and educational facilities.

Ted is one of fewer than 300 individuals in the United States to earn the prestigious Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) designation from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). This credential reflects his deep understanding of healthcare-specific mechanical systems, infection control, and patient-centered design solutions. His expertise is highly valued by clients, who appreciate his ability to solve complex engineering challenges while maintaining a strong focus on reliability and long-term operational efficiency.

Holding a Higher National Diploma in Building Services Engineering from Brighton University in the United Kingdom, Ted has applied his global perspective—gained through professional experiences in the UK, Zimbabwe, and the United States—to a diverse range of projects. His ability to integrate best practices from different regions and adapt them to local regulations and client needs has been instrumental in delivering innovative engineering solutions.

One of Ted’s most notable projects is the Texas Center for Infectious Disease Hospital (TCID), a groundbreaking facility that was the first stand-alone tuberculosis treatment hospital built in the U.S. in nearly 60 years. His contributions to this state-of-the-art healthcare environment demonstrate his ability to design complex mechanical systems that meet the rigorous demands of specialized medical treatment facilities.

Ted’s commitment to excellence, technical acumen, and client-focused approach continue to make him an invaluable asset to O’Connell Robertson and a trusted leader in the industry.

A vital member of O’Connell Robertson since 2008, Jayna Duke is a passionate advocate for designing interior spaces that support and empower occupants to reach their goals. As the firm’s Interiors Practice Leader, she guides a talented team in delivering innovative, functional, and inspiring environments across a variety of sectors. With a strong belief that every space should reflect its unique purpose, Jayna works closely with clients to uncover the mission behind each project and bring it to life through thoughtful design.

With over 16 years of experience as a registered interior designer, Jayna specializes in the planning and design of educational, healthcare, and corporate environments. Her expertise includes interior programming, finish and furniture selection, art curation, and the development of design concepts that align with each client’s vision. Her leadership ensures that projects—regardless of size, budget, or complexity—are executed with precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of the end-user experience.

In the K12 education sector, Jayna focuses on enhancing learning environments from the inside out, creating dynamic spaces that support student engagement and academic success. In higher education, she brings a strategic approach to interior design, ensuring that academic and student spaces promote collaboration, well-being, and adaptability. In healthcare, Jayna’s expertise is centered on designing environments that promote healing, efficiency, and comfort for both patients and providers. She understands the critical role interior spaces play in supporting wellness and delivers solutions that enhance the overall healthcare experience.

A dedicated leader and advocate for design excellence, Becky Winovitch has been a key member of O’Connell Robertson since 2007. As a Principal and the firm’s Director of Architectural Quality, she plays a critical role in upholding high design standards, implementing quality assurance protocols, and fostering the technical development of the firm’s staff. With over 25 years of experience in the planning and design of K-12, higher education, and healthcare facilities, Becky brings a wealth of expertise that ensures every project meets the highest standards of functionality, durability, and design integrity.

Becky holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Louisiana State University and is a Registered Architect and Certified Construction Document Technologist. Her active involvement as a Board Member of the Construction Specifications Institute reflects her commitment to advancing industry best practices and promoting continuous learning. With a passion for mentorship and professional development, she is instrumental in guiding O’Connell Robertson’s design teams, ensuring that technical precision and innovation remain at the forefront of every project.

Since joining O’Connell Robertson in 2014, Danny Cornejo has played a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with many of the firm’s most valued clients in K-12, higher education, and healthcare organizations. As Director of Business Development, he applies his strategic marketing expertise and deep community connections to cultivate new opportunities and strengthen partnerships that support the firm’s mission of designing environments that enrich lives.

A graduate of Texas A&M International University, Danny earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing while competing as an NCAA baseball player—an experience that honed his leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills. A native of San Antonio, he has a deep understanding of the region’s educational and healthcare landscape and is passionate about creating meaningful connections between clients and design teams. Acting as a liaison, Danny ensures that every project aligns with the client’s vision, goals, and expectations, reinforcing O’Connell Robertson’s commitment to exceptional service and impactful design.

Rick’s early foundation in art and math acted as the catalyst for his career in architecture. After earning a Master of Architecture degree from The University of Texas, Rick began his career with a strong focus on business development, design and project management. At O’Connell Robertson, Rick’s leadership led the company to unprecedented revenue growth, increases in project scale and scope, and development of staff expertise. With more than 40 years in the industry, Rick continues to focus on key client relationships, new business development and special projects as a Principal in the Firm.
