O’Connell Robertson Donates Toys to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Christus Children’s Hospital
We love designing buildings that fill a community need. We love it even more when we can continue giving back to our clients and partners who use those buildings as they support their communities throughout Central and South Texas. This holiday season, O’Connell Robertson partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Christus Children’s Hospital to gather donations throughout both of our offices for their annual holiday toy drives.
In the Austin office, our team filled over four boxes and bags with toys and gift cards for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Texas. Every December, Big Brothers Big Sisters invites hundreds of Little Brothers and Sisters and their mentors to celebrate the season with holiday festivities and a holiday party. At the event, every child gets to pick out a gift donated by BBBS supporters like O’Connell Robertson. We were honored to be able to make the holidays a little brighter for the children of Central Texas.
Our San Antonio team collected toys for the Christus Children’s Hospital of San Antonio’s Child Life Department. The Child Life Department’s mission is to ease the anxiety around hospital stays for children and their families. One of the best ways to do this is by providing comfort items and toys that are familiar to the babies and children. The O’Connell Robertson team toys collected will be used throughout the hospital for patients varying in age and diagnosis, helping to facilitate play and support healing, coping and creativity for hospital patients and their families.
