O’Connell Robertson Welcomes Dr. Susan Kincannon

Dr. Susan Kincannon Joins O’Connell Robertson as Educational Facilities Strategist & Engagement Leader

O’Connell Robertson is proud to share that Dr. Susan Kincannon has officially joined our team as Educational Facilities Strategist & Engagement Leader. With over 30 years of experience as an educator and administrator in Texas public schools, and having served as Superintendent of both Waco ISD and Belton ISD, Dr. Kincannon brings a wealth of knowledge in educational leadership, long-range planning, and district operations.

Dr. Kincannon has been a valued partner to O’Connell Robertson for many years. Under her leadership, we worked together on several of the firm’s most significant K-12 projects, including the award-winning Lake Belton High School and Charter Oak Elementary School. Most recently, we’ve collaborated with Dr. Kincannon and Waco ISD on the district’s $355 million bond program; an ambitious investment in modernizing and reimagining learning environments across the district.

Throughout her career, Dr. Kincannon has led or supported nearly $1 billion in school bond planning, design, and construction. She has a strong reputation for being a thoughtful communicator, visionary planner, and student-centered leader, with a deep understanding of what it takes to guide complex initiatives that serve both educational and community needs.

In her new role at O’Connell Robertson, Dr. Kincannon will support our educational clients across Texas in areas such as bond planning and strategy, community engagement, and early design visioning. She’ll also serve as a valuable resource to our internal teams, helping connect instructional priorities and curriculum needs to the physical spaces we design. Additionally, she’ll contribute to marketing, business development, and thought leadership efforts, sharing her insights on how facility planning and educational leadership intersect.

“After years of working alongside Susan as a client and trusted partner, we are thrilled to now have her leadership in-house,” said Amy Jones, President of O’Connell Robertson. “She brings an authentic understanding of the challenges school leaders face today; and she will help ensure our designs continue to reflect the priorities of students, staff, and communities.”

Dr. Kincannon earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, a master’s in educational administration from Tarleton State University, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Baylor University. She is a graduate of the Holdsworth Center Leadership Collaborative and has served on the College Board’s National Superintendents Advisory Council.

We are excited for the mission driven perspective Dr. Kincannon will bring to our work—and even more excited for the positive impact she’ll have on the school districts and communities we serve.

Welcome to the team!
