Doug Dawson Promoted to Associate Principal
We are proud to announce the promotion of Doug Dawson, RA, ALEP to Associate Principal at O’Connell Robertson. Over the past decade, Doug has played an important role in advancing our work with school districts and educational institutions across Texas, helping deliver thoughtful, high-performing learning environments that support students, educators, and communities.
Doug joined the firm more than 10 years ago and has contributed to a wide range of education projects during that time. His work is grounded in a strong understanding of how design directly impacts teaching and learning. From early planning through construction, Doug approaches each project with a commitment to collaboration, careful problem solving, and a focus on delivering facilities that serve districts for generations.
As an A4LE Accredited Learning Environment Planner and a registered architect, Doug brings both technical expertise and a deep knowledge of educational facility planning to our clients. He works closely with district leaders, educators, and project partners to translate educational goals into spaces that are flexible, durable, and responsive to the evolving needs of schools.
Doug’s impact extends beyond the buildings themselves. His ability to listen, build consensus, and guide complex projects has helped school districts move forward with confidence while strengthening relationships with the communities they serve. Colleagues and clients alike value Doug’s steady leadership, attention to detail, and dedication to delivering successful outcomes.
In his new role as Associate Principal, Doug will continue to contribute to the firm’s leadership while mentoring team members and supporting the continued growth of our education practice.
