O’Connell Robertson’s mission was to create an elementary school meeting the District’s goals of providing a flexible, welcoming, inspiring and innovative learning environment supporting collaboration and community. Newton Collins Elementary School reflects an adaptable 21st-century learning environment with capacity for 1000 students. The floor plan design focuses on classroom neighborhoods surrounding a central library that is the heart of the campus. Science areas and computer stations are integrated into these common areas with transparency into the classrooms, allowing an extension of the learning environment outside of the classroom.
