"When we decided to proceed with the One Water concept, much of the engineering pieces on Blue Hole Primary were already completed, but that didn't deter O'Connell Robertson. Their team took the lead and brought everyone together to make it happen, and to make it happen successfully."
Dwain York
Superintendent, Wimberley ISD
The new Blue Hole Primary School has a capacity for 800 students and was adapted from Wimberley ISD’s Jacob’s Well Elementary School (also designed by O’Connell Robertson). The facility is a flexible learning environment composed of general and special education classrooms, specialty classrooms like art, science, and computer, administration and faculty support, a cafetorium, covered playscapes, a gymnasium, and a library. Blue Hole Primary School is the first One Water School in Texas. One Water is a water conservation effort that consists of rainwater collection for toilet flushing, an on-site septic system for effluent treatment, and beneficial reuse of the effluent water via irrigation.
