“The new design of our elementary schools has exceeded our expectations…The levels of engagement we see in each community area show a level of excitement for learning that every educator dreams about! We have a model for student learning in Leander ISD, and the new design of our elementary has been a key factor in bringing the Learning Model to life.”
Dr. Bret Champion, Former Superintendent
O’Connell Robertson helped lead collaborative planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders to develop a prototype design with the District for future elementary schools that would support Leander ISD’s vision. The design responds to key instructional concepts, such as flexibility, hands-on learning, small learning communities, and fingertip access for an 800-student capacity. Open areas within classroom spaces allow for multi-use activities and increased flexibility, while the use of windows between classrooms and into hallways provides a transparent quality that allows the learning curriculum to flow throughout the building.
