This project consists of a new 19,000 SF, one story science lab facility serving various programs at San Antonio College. The facility includes 8 new lab spaces with a shared prep corridor running down the center spine of the building. Wrapping the perimeter are open collaborative spaces with functional building spaces on the north and west sides. To work with the site topography, an elevated teaching platform with shading was included that ties inherently to the site navigation ramps/stairs. Patterns from nature were used in influencing the site design as well as the metal panel layout on the north facade of the building.
