The PCCCU design not only considers the patients’ needs but families as well, it offers a home away from home atmosphere while still providing a fully functioning critical care environment.
O’Connell Robertson provided comprehensive architecture and engineering services to renovate the Pediatric Coronary Critical Care Unit at Universal Health System. The renovation included twelve beds, six Intermediate Care Patient Rooms and an outpatient ECHO Clinic program. Additionally, the project design included private overnight sleeping rooms for family, expanded community spaces including a family lounge, kitchenette, a library, and children’s play areas.
