The historic Texas Union Building has served as a gathering place and community center for The University of Texas students since 1933.
Working to extend the life of this iconic building, O’Connell Robertson designed and managed multiple renovation projects, including upgrading the fire alarm system and repairing the MEP systems without disturbing any of the irreplaceable finishes and precise detailing that define the Texas Union Building. As a gateway along 24th street to the original 40-acres of the UT Austin campus, the Texas Union renovations also included improvements to the north patio with outdoor seating, lighting to engage day or night, and landscaping to soften the building edge.
